Local Visibility
Why your Google Business Profile is often your first impression
For many local businesses, the first impression happens in search, not on the website. What a Google Business Profile does and how to keep it accurate.
When someone searches for a business by name or looks for a service nearby, a Google Business Profile often appears before any website does. Hours, location, photos, reviews, and services are presented in one place — and many customers decide whether to call without ever clicking through.
What the profile communicates
A complete profile communicates basic facts: what you do, where you are, when you are open, and how to reach you. Categories and services tell Google which searches the business is relevant to. Photos and posts show that the business is active. Reviews and responses show how it treats customers.
Common problems
The most common issues are simple: profiles that were never claimed, outdated hours or phone numbers, categories that don’t match the actual services, and no recent photos or activity. Each makes the business look less established than it is.
Create, optimize, or manage
Some businesses need a profile created and verified. Others have a profile that needs to be corrected and completed. Others want it maintained on an ongoing basis. These are separate needs, and it is reasonable to address only the one you have.
